The building planned behind a factory building in Kemalpasa, Izmir holds guesthouse and residential building functions together. To isolate the building from the factory field, to protect the borders of the factory and residential building respectively and to break the visual relationship between these two fields, a high wall is designed right in front of the building which is beside the factory field by its location. Owning the identity of a deaf facade and lying back against the factory building, a wall is constructed. Settled in a courtyard right in front of that wall, the building is designed as a calm and quiet, isolated structure. The view of the forestland is let in with the help of the front facade formed with dynamic and rhythmic glass surfaces. The glasses on the side facades of the building is directed to the front side to get use of the sunlight rather than turning it into deaf facades to be able to get the opportunity of the view.
In this area a core is created to enable vertical circulation between the buildings, and it becomes a bridge between the functions divided into guesthouse and residential building. While A storehouse, a shelter and four guesthouses are formed on one wing of the building besides an outhouse for the employees taking care of the guesthouses and the garden, the other wing is designed as a housing project of apartments with different layouts. Three independent apartment types are planned inside the residential building. The layout is planned as one bedroom on the basement floor but two on the top floor besides a kitchen, wet area and living area. The living area designed for the basement floor is formed to have a double-floor hight by benefitting from the 1+1 apartment’s being smaller in quantity survey.
Material selection is done through materials communing with nature, like wood, natural stone etc, and landscaping is integrated into the project intensely. Large balconies and spacious terraces are added to the plan for the guests and residents to spend good time in pleasure.
